Tim, I was reading my e-mails and came across your statement. I couldn't agree with you more. I am also confined to my wheel chair and the only time I would get the post office is if my wife had to take off work to take me. So she has to do it for me. The mail man here just drives his car up to the mailbox and stuff's it in. But if it's a DX letter or my med's. he will bring it up to the door. Have I got him trained. But a lot of people don't realize just what a problem it is not being able to get out and do the things we did when we were younger.

That was so horribly rude and ugly!

I do not know the person, but have you ever considered it may be someone who, due to handicaps or other problems, may find it very difficult to get to a post office or mail box to mail a letter? Or maybe they have no transportation to the post office to get stamps? Or thousands of other possibilities you may not realize?

Not everyone, especially in a group heavy on old timers like on this list, can just jump and run anytime and anywhere they like. Some are confined to wheelchairs, making going to a post office a big ordeal. Some are confined to beds making even going to the mailbox, if they have one, a big ordeal.

Some of us live in neighborhoods where we will put nothing important in our mailbox as it is unlikely to still be there when the mailman/woman checks it.

I personally rarely do anything by mail as the post office has lost so much of my mail over the years, because I do not drive except in a "life or death" emergency, and because the only times I have anyone available to drive for me the post office is normally closed.

Try learning to have a little compassion for others. The world could be a much happier place, you won't be bringing others down and maybe it will make YOU happier in life too.

God Bless You. It sounds like you need it.
