[Qcwa] QCWA Palm Beach Chapter 111 meeting

Dear Jeff,

I had planned on getting over to visit your chapter this winter, but my
XYL's illness prevented this, and we are headed back north next Thursday
after a short stay here this winter.

Our problems started in 2002 when we were on our way to Western Canada to
attend the RAC (Canada's National Radio Group) Convention.  We got 2000
miles along the way and my XYL Elizabeth had a heart attack.  This
happened in a little town in Saskatchewan, where I had to stay while
Elizabeth recovered in the hospital until she was well enough to travel -
over a month later.

Because of this incident,  she could not get any out of country travel
insurance, so we did not get South at all last year for the first time.
This year we were able to find an insurance carrier who, at considerable
cost, provided insurance for her.  Because of the high cost, we planned
on staying only 3 months this winter.  Well, wouldn't you believe after
one week here in January, she fell and broke her jaw in 3 places
including shattering both ball joints near the ears.  Her jaw has been
wired in the closed position for most of our stay - so once again it has
not been a good winter. 

 In any event, we are headed North on Thursday next and will not get to
your area this winter.  Please convey my greetings to all in Chapter 111,
and I will look forward to seeing you at one of your Luncheon meetings
next winter.  I also hope to see some of your members at the Annual QCWA
Convention this year which is being held in my home town of Ottawa in mid
October. October is a very pleasant time of tear in this area.  Details
