Warren,
Do me a favor if you can.   Look in the Tampa phone book and
see if there are any "Leightons"  (I mean last name Leighton.]
I am still trying since 1945 to find out if my buddy
Charlie Leighton (we were radio operators in Signal Corps
and served together from same unit 5th Signal Detachment for
several years).  I am assuming he met his death at Omaha Beach
or at one of the other invasion beaches on D-day in WW2.
His ham call sign was W4GAT at the time.
