Jeff....many thanks for the pix....
The radio position shown in the photos was at the rear of the operating
room.....until Dec. 7th, '41 it operated as the NCS for the AARS regional
net.
As with all amateur radio operation it was shut down and was used for local
war dept nets and for other manual operation type tasks.
I remember that we were standing by for a station to come up from Karachi
and the operators had to take turns monitoring at that old position.
I remember seeing Major Dave Talley there but he moved on to other duties
shortly after Dec 7th.
The old Super Pro's in the pix sure bring back memories.
There were several racks of Super Pros......at least 20 receivers which were
available for the operators to patch into from their positions. Many
operators on the mid watch would patch in a broadcast station from their
home town and feed it into one side of the headset.
