If you read the wire services as I do, you know that the anti-American
resentment is growing very quickly amongst the Eueropean young. Nothing the
USA can do about it -- other than finish off Saddam as quickly as possible --
and then show the world the banned weapons he has in in arsinal.

As to the Ukranian who refuses to QSO Americans and Brits? Thats his
problem -- and I can't wait for the day he puts in for DXCC to the "AMERICAN
Radio Relay League." (Emphasis mine.)

Hate to bust the media bubble over there, but that is happening to
Americans in France, Germany and Belgium too. We've had more than a few
attacked over here. Isn't talked about much, and it's not just words. The
days of sitting on the sidelines seem to be mostly over on this issue.

It is odd the during the height of the Cold War, US and USSR stationed
continued to QSO. As you say, Ham Radio was apolitical.

As for the Ukrainian Ham boycotting the US, I have seen similar things from
this side. I support the War in Iraq, but I was saddened to see a ham friend
in France harassed off one of the Ham reflectors for the actions of his
government. He was truly vilified, and I was embarrassed. (He had made no
comments concerning Iraq, politics, etc., he was just attacked because he
 was French).

I for one, am noting the calls of all stations that engage in these
practices, Russian, Ukrainian, Frence, AND US. If in the future all their
CQs are met with silence, maybe they will get the hint.
