Well, I got mine! It arrived on June 9 and, as usual, in good shape.
Others around me have yet to get their copy and all of us have no
clue. Some of us may need to wait a full month, giving all the sacks a
chance to be emptied and processed in accordance with their priority at the
delivering USPS facility.
Some years ago the date of receipt for a monthly amateur magazine was
varying wildly, so I obtained monthly mailing date information for my area
from the publisher for the previous 12 months. With this data I visited
the local USPS Delivery Superintendent. The response was not too customer
oriented! Next, I visited with the local Postmaster and was disappointed
in the body language, lack of eye contact, not to mention the absence of
reasonable, believable information.
So I immediately filed a delivery complaint with the Postal Inspection
Service having cognizance over my delivery area.
Now, for some reason, the delivery of this mag is well within tolerance!
The OOTC emails their quarterly journal in Adobe to those of us who prefer
to file it on a Zip disk or CD instead of a shelf, as well as those who
read it and delete it. I get mine by email well before the printed version
comes off the press, let alone is delivered by USPS. Besides, the email
version is in full and glorious color!
