By the way. I had a friend send me email informing me that my license had
expired in October of last year. Oopsies. So off to the FCC web site. Now
I remember why I didn't do it sooner. Rather cryptic, BUT, it is
possible for
mere mortals to navigate the site.

The biggest problem I had was not having a password. When the FCC
changed over to the ULS system, they assigned an FRN to me and a
password. I called the FCC office (per the instructions on the web site)
FAXed them my name, social security number, FRN, phone number
and the case number assigned at the time of the call. They called me back
the same day with the temporary password. Once into the system, it was
pretty straight forward.

Note: I called the FCC office on Thursday, January 16th and according to
the FCC data (and as displayed on QRZ.com, my license was renewed on
the next day.

By the way, W5YI has a renewal service via the QRZ.com web site. For
about $6, I think, they will go through all the arcane and magical
incantations
for you.

Now good through 2013, assuming we still have any spectrum by then.
