OK, guys. I did this morning what I promised last night to do. That HTML
message at the bottom of all my postings bothers me because it says that my
emails are not all that clean coming into the reflector.
I called AOL, was placed on hold various stages, and then referred by the
first tech to the next level for another discussion of the HTML going through
on my email to this reflector.
Those I talked with at AOL had never heard of a "reflector," so I had to
spend some time teaching them what one is and how it operates. After several
trials, doings, manipulations, and changes, the last Tech simply said, "AOL
does not allow you the option of changing from HTML as do Yahoo, (and she
mentioned several others.) Sorry, but that is not available to you."
Apparently I have something here on my particular version of AOL 7.0 that a
few others do not have on theirs, and some HTML is going to get through. I
wish it were not so. I wish my messages to you all were cleaner, but they are
not and apparently AOL can't/won't do anything to make it different.
Instead of working to see if I can't clear it out, I have other things I must
do today. I am helping my wife of 50+ years as she recovers from pneunonia
(much better after nearly two weeks, I am glad to say, but she is still very
weak). So, I suppose I shall just have to put up with the message at the end
of any of my postings and hope you all will do so also. I wish it might come
through cleaner, but at least the reflector does strip it off for all our
protection.
Thanks for bearing with me.
