I've been a member of QCWA Chapter17 for abt 10yrs.
In that time, the only group exercise is eating. Once a year they do field
day and a lot of good eats.
Last year I spent time recruiting new members, that's hard.
The question is besides old people, here I go, what does the QCWA offer ?
How do other Chapters recruit and create interest?
I started in Ham Radio in 1958, as a young boy. I had to be picked up and
driven or walk to see other Hams. I am still interested in Ham radio and
"boat Anchors", but we should move on and hopefully embrace newer
technology.
The other problem is the lack of , or total apathy toward new Hams Uh,
No-coders.
Well, they will never be hams just CB'ers with ham licenses unless we the
OLD Farts get off are horse and reach out to them.
I work for a living at age 55, and don't have the time for a lot of things.
However, I make the time to help newbies. I see these older retired people
, have no time because, sitting and saying I'm too ,Too busy.
Sri for my rantings, Allspice disease may be setting in.
What say ye on the form?
What do other Chapters do to hold club members interest, recruit, group
projects etc.
This I plan another recruiting effort at Hamfest this summer.
The question I hear most of all is "what do you do?"
Our Chapter eats a lot.
Of course that's my fault, I proposed to meet at the Olde Country Buffet
for breakfast and our meeting because they have a meeting room. Hint to
others .
Tnx fer your help in advance de Skip K3CC
