Well, one place to start, if you've got the time is the www.qrz.com site.

Depending on how big a list you want, you can search by zip code, city
or state. And, you can search by name too, a function I really like. Since
I can't always remember call signs.

For my zip code, 90249, they show 82 records.
For my city, Gardena CA, they show 226 records.

Fortunately, they do not have curmudgeon as a search criteria.
Although, that would be helpful for some of the members on this
reflector. ;-)

If you're looking for potential QCWA members, you can print out
the appropriate list, then go back to the call sign search engine at
http://www.qrz.com/callsign and enter them one by one and check
the age under Detailed Listing and pick anyone prior to 1965.

Since the requirements for QCWA membership only state that you
were licensed prior to (now) 1977, don't automatically snub the
newer 2x3 call signs. Some people had let their licenses lapse and
only recently got back into amateur radio.
