Hi Harvey,

No, you do not have to be a member of a chapter.  All that you need to do 
is request the 70 year award from Jim Walsh at HQ.  Send an email to Jim 
Walsh, W7LVN [email protected] at Headquarters.  The phone number, email 
address and snail mail address is on page 2 of any Journal.

Headquarters searches the data base for qualified awards at 75 years and 
above.  Those would be awarded automatically.  Some chapters like to 
present those awards at chapter meetings, but if you are not near any 
chapters it is not required for you to get one.

job well done!
