Joe.....surprising that they didn't have much luck recruiting
operators...most of the guys enlisted right there at WAR....they made them
Sgts right off .... 17th Sig Svc Co.
They all thought they would sit out the war there at WAR but it didnt
happen......some of the guys were sent to some pretty remote places.
I tried to find the unit history for the outfit but to my surprise the
Historical Office at
Fort Gordon told me there was no history for that outfit on hand.
