This for Henry, ref fixed stn operations ww2 etc.
Well Henry what a coincidence ref Crowder.
I started as fixed stn Tech/Opr on first day after sworn
in at Benning stn WUO. I had seen no schools and only
knew of SignalCorps/East (Ft monmouth) because some of
the personnel we received came out of there.
I didnt even know about SC/Central at that time.
After 3 years overseas and returned on the 85 basis points
system, and after doing all those things for 3 years
what did they do with me when arrived at New Orleans.
Well of course they sent me to Deridder AB in Louisana
and they were full of top 3 graders and nothing to do
with them and no place to quarter them so they were all
sent back to school but this time to Crowder. One thing
I didnt know about and had'nt done overseas up to that point
however was "Wide-Band FM" mntnce. So I did at least
get something useful out of Crowder. I had never heard
the fantastic sound of WiseBand FM before and it was
amazing even on a piece of military equipment. So we
almost crossed patchs at least seperated by a 3 year
time lapse.
