Hi Kevin,
I see that Gene, K5DLE has beat me to the keyboard on the recruiting question.
Gene has the best method that I have heard of in recruiting. I don't know of
any data base available to us that would have the license date. We ran a
recruiting contest or two in recent history trying to encourage members to
bring in new members. Gene left everyone else in the dust! So much so that
after giving him and Chapter 63 the first place blue ribbon twice in a row we
gave up on the contest idea.
Two main ideas in recruiting new members: first, you have to ASK potential
members to join; second, your current chapter members are the best resource for
local knowledge of who may be eligible.
Headquarters will provide a "care package" of material for any chapter (or
member) that requests it to assist in operating a recruiting table at your
local hamfest. This package will include applications, sample Journals and
membership supplies. QCWA will be operating a table at the Dayton Hamvention,
come by and say hello!
Get out and show the banner! Good Luck!
