[Qcwa] In my behalf

It would be hard to disagree with any of the messages posted today - but
allow me to remind us all that the issue here was a "slam dunk" and if
the leadership wasted our meager funds to find out the vast majority of
us would prefer to have a 60 meter band, the outcry would - and should -
have been massive. And, in general, the time for us to decide how we
want most issues dealt with is when we consider who we want as our
representative(s). If we can't find a kindred spirit amongst the
candidates, then it's time for us to get personally involved. That's
how our "representative" culture works. The Greeks rather clearly
demonstrated that a true "democracy" was not a practical way for any
society to get things done !

Ron,
Your views have my support and I would vote for anyone who can represent
the membership and, even when the membership is not fully informed, try
your best to lead to an effective conclusion representative of the
overall good. Very good statement and good luck in your quest.

Well, Jim,
I, of course, agree with you wholeheartedly. I sincerely hope I didn't
give
you the wrong impression.
I did run for a directorship in the QCWA this year and I feel I also
would
have represented the membership fully and well. Unfortunately, I wasn't
elected. "Bummer!" But, I hope to run again next year, as I want to help
nurture the QCWA and cause it to grow.
Of course, I do have my opinions, but, as a representative, I feel that
I
should always set them aside when they are in conflict with those whom I
represent. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't try to educate and
influence
them when I feel they are wrong, but, they MUST have the final say.
I do hope most will agree with this philosophy.
