[Qcwa] In my behalf

Ron:

No offense taken here. We have duties as well as rights in a Republic fo=
rm of government. One of these is to seek information to allow us to for=
m an opinion whatever it is. Many people forget their duties and just wa=
nt the cake when offered. Anyone who wants the elected officials to cons=
ider their opinions should use their some of their time to make them know=
n and that includes our local, state and national officials. In other wo=
rds, be informed and be counted.

I don't know anyone in QCWA that won't give considerable thought to any o=
pinion offered. Sometimes I get the feeling other organizations don't ca=
re for the ordinary member's comments and even fail to acknowledge them. =
 I am sure any member of QCWA board will represent the membership's views=
 and will, if possible, take the time to explain their vote.

I hope you understand this is not pointed at you either. This is just my=
 feeble way of expressing my support for what QCWA had done for the amate=
ur community over the years (almost 20) I have been a member. They have =
been considerate, insightful, and responsive to all issues I have broache=
d with the directors. I applaud their efforts, time spent and considerat=
ion of my views. =20

I guess I responded before I had read the first post on this issue. I wou=
ld =20
like to amend my comments to include the following.

When our elected representatives are about to vote on significant issues,=
 =20
they usually seek comments from their constituency. We, who care to, may =
then =20
voice our approval, or, dissent.

We hope that, in the event, there is sufficient response, it may dissuade=
 a =20
vote which is against the will of the people.

It doesn't always produce the desired result, but, at least we had our sa=
y. =20
And will again, come election time.

If a representative ignores all of the people all of the time, well, I do=
n't =20
think he or she has much of a future in politics.

I mistakenly thought the original post had to do with things of a persona=
l =20
nature, and I apologize if my remarks offended anyone.

Sincerely, Ron K  --  W1ARS
