Okay fellas, a little closer to "on topic" on this one.
How many of you remember what a beast the old BC610 was to work
on while in the field? No problem in a repair shop since one
had all the jackups and supports to hold the bottom chassis up
while you got into the guts. That was one heavy monster. I once
had 6 SCR299's mobile stations under my charge along with their
tote pwr units etc. Hey I didnt even have any experience driving
a truck, much less driving a truck and a pwr unit behind it.
Anyway it went smoothly albeit backing the thing up any distance
took some practise. But as I said the way the BC610 was put
together as I recall left much to be desired when you had to start
removing a power transformer or whatever from the lower decks
while out in a tent city somewhere.
