Dont forget Norm, the conversation was about KOKOMO not Makawao.
Makawao was just incidental and is a well known town in Maui.
Just outside Makawao is a street sign pointing to "Kokomo" thats
the mind boggler part of it.  How did KOKOMO become a part of
the mystery.  Its not a Hawaiian word or name place, nor is it
even mentioned in Folklore.  Its was surmised by the local
Star Bulletin newspaper as having somehow being connected to
the American troops that were training in that area during
WW2, but again no factual info available.
