A few odd times in the afternoon to get western mults on 15 and 20. Lots of
family and honey-do stuff all day. No non-interrupted time after
all-else-family until after 10 pm. Had a roaring 40m run to out-west and
west coast about 05Z. For about 20 minutes 40 lost all the QSB. Otherwise
conditions were weird. Surprised to get 23 mults on 160. On 160 did manage
to work old buddy Will, WJ9B out in Idaho, plus MN and MO Just barely heard
N6RO on top band, but Ken didn't hear me. There are times when I dearly
miss the QRO. QRO would have made it to the West coast. Was sorely tempted
to hit the KPA power switch to give him the QSO. But I resisted. I almost
always work Ken in any contest with 160. Bummer. Did not hear N6TR on 160.
With Ken that weak, Tree didn't have a chance. But 160 is starting to inch
back. Time for contests had been very rare 24-25 contest season, and this
was fun. K4, 160 Inv L, used as EFHWL on 80. 40/20 fan dipole, also for 15.
Cranky but loaded up on 15. K4 Auto Tuner has a large range. Thanks for the
