Hey Henry,
Sounds like you and I are in similar situations as I have moved pretty much full time to Surf City.
A couple things...Keep in mind there are two circles, ARRL and CQ. The CQ circle is larger, so you may find you are still in that one. I think that is the case for me at Surf City. The circles are shown on the PVRC home page.
As far as call signs, you could get a club call, or use your own. Portables aren't required inside the call area by any contest sponsor as far as I know.
Now for the important thing...What antennas are you putting up? 
