Before the ARRL meeting tomorrow, please be sure that you, and everyone you know in ham radio, write to all ARRL Directors to uphold our government's regulations for our hobby.

And please ask everyone you know to support RM-11831 and reject WT 16-239 at the FCC ECFS!

Here is why. Feel free to alert others!

> As discussed below.......
>> Interesting story about Winlink email usage in the amateur radio spectrum.

>> https://spectrum.ieee.org/tech-talk/telecom/wireless/is-ham-radio-a-hobby-a-utilityor-both-a-battle-over-spectrum-heats-up.amp.html
>>
And then today we have this completely inaccurate account of the failed ARRL negotiations being perpetrated by ARSFI/ Winlink's email-in-chief, and a vow by the Midwest director K9XA to vote at the ARRL board meeting this week for adding more effectively encrypted email traffic into ham radio - claiming yet again there is "'nothing here to see"

Then see this bold text:
>>
>> § 97.113 Prohibited transmissions.

>>
>> (ii) An amateur operatormay notify other amateur operators of the availability for sale or trade of apparatus normally used in an amateur station, provided that such activity is not conducted on a regular basis.
>>
>> (iii) A control operatormay accept compensation as an incident of a teaching position during periods of time when an amateur station is used by that teacher as a part of classroom instruction at an educational institution.

>>

>>
>> ====
>> Then consider: Here are other radio service alternatives that may be used regularly for email (e.g., that are in FCC radio services such as Part 80 and Part 90 that are not hobby, ham-to-ham communications as required by Part 97 ):
