[PVRCNC] Fwd: [PVRC] How to View Winlink Traffic

This is completely contrived...... they either created signals within the same shack, or on a very nearby antenna, or waited for s9+40 dB type signals with no fading.
>
> Then they contrived an experiment such that with zero loss of any bits, and perfect synchronization and many a prior items that would not be known to a listner in general, they could very rarely get a short message decoded.
>
> This is Not at all "real world" or typical of a man in the middle trying to copy, and they know it.
>
> As I told the FCC last year, ARQ was mostly developed for wireline channels with no fading, where all nodes on the wire know the precise channel state and hear all acknowledgements and transmissions perfectly.
>
> Any fading whatsoever, and a single lost bit in the transmission path, obscures the traffic for meaning by a listening 3rd party in these email systems when they use ARQ and Compression.
>
> Why 5 messages decoded in 20 years!?
>
> Why can't arrl's modem, or anyone else's modem, do what his contrived experiment does?
>
> This is Just another attempt to obfuscate, hide from the truth, claim that there is "nothing there to see," and break the part 97 rules for the use of an email system that lets our spectrum be used for ham-to-non-ham email and business use.
>
> In short, I hope people see why this is further indication why everyone must write the FCC and ARRL directors today- let them know you want all ham radio data to be openly understandable by others (not in contrived conditions, but in general). Let them know that all ham radio data and operations must be open and that you object to the ham spectrum being used as a common carrier for non ham email.
>
> If the advocates of private email in ham radio would go so far to stage such propaganda, how can this to group be entrusted to maintain and provide a "Winlink message viewer?".
>
> Without complete transparency in all we do in ham radio, how can the hobby grow and cultivate experimentation and fair use of the spectrum? Please speak out- T U

>>> Let the ARRL Board know that ham radio should be open for all, with all transmitted data readily available for open decoding, for meaning, by any listener over the air. This is the only way our avocation can self-police, ensure transparency in all that happens on our airwaves, ensure emergency assistance when needed, and keep out business and commercial bypass. >>> In taking a few minutes out of your day for our hobby, please think how NOT addressing this issue could impact the future of our country, our hobby, and our amateur radio spectrum for the long term. thanks for your interest and for spreading the word before Friday.

I can provide a couple of photos of it sitting in my garage if interested. I have the manual but it is buried either in a box in the garage or at my storage unit in Greenwood SC.
