Sorry you can’t make it, Guy. Hope you’ll be better soon.. Nate, I would appreciate your putting some time aside to discuss the discussion going on concerning ARRL by-laws, etc. so that if there is a consensus this can be communicated to our directors and officers for possible action along the lines of what has already been done by NCCC. I am not saying this as a foregone conclusion—only that I feel our chapter should discuss and as many members as possible be there for the meeting.
HNY Y’all!
Jim, K4QPL

Subject: [PVRC] Regular Monthly Meeting PVRC NC East Thursday January 4, Manchester's
Hello PVRC and friends,
The regular monthly meeting of the PVRC NC East chapter will be held Thursday January 4, 2018 in the group room at Manchester's Bar and Grille, 9101 Leesville Rd, Raleigh, NC 27613.
5:15 PM: Arrivals begin and continue throughout the meeting. Late arrivals please sign in on the Chairman's log when you first come in.
We do it this way because some need to arrive early enough to beat one or more of the several regular weekday interstate jam-ups. Others can't leave early and always get caught in the jam. So latecomers are **entirely welcome**. We've all been there and **entirely understand**. Anyone who comes in during the round-the-table will be picked up at the end if the round has gone past where they are sitting. Wait staff is used to our late arrivals. We allow a 30 second embarrassing pause for anyone who gets caught with a mouth full of french fries when it's their turn. After 30 seconds you have to talk with your mouth full.
6:00 PM Serious, organized QRN (as opposed to blathering, meandering QRN) begins with the round-the-table. Dining is any time after 5:15, shortly after you tackle one of the wait staff. Official meeting is officially over after official round-the-table, any official program, and the chairman runs out of official blather. The entire meeting is actually over when all the post-official-meeting stand-up meetings break up and go home. That could be anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour later.
All are invited. Newcomers and visitors distinctly welcome. You will be treated like you've been our friend for twenty years.
I will not see you this time due to side injury and inability to sit for any protracted time, including driving and pizza slurping. Nate, N4YDU has graciously agreed to helm this month's meeting.
Guy K2AV
Chair, PVRC-NCE
[Note: high tipping insures that the owner will suffer a severe beating by the wait staff if he ever tries to schedule the room out from under us. If you can't high tip, don't worry, nobody is looking.]
