I was the lucky winner of an Elecraft K-POD accessory as a door prize at the
Contest Dinner in Dayton. This is a really cool accessory for K3/K3s.
Doesn't interfere with any other connections as it uses that "reserved for
future use" RJ-6 socket under the front of the radio.

Putting it next to the keyboard gives you choice right out of the box of VFO
A, B, or RIT with a large knob using a rocker selector switch. The 8
pushbuttons activate up to 16 K3 macros you can set for most anything you
want such as Clear RIT, split sequence for running and back to S&P, or a "2
up" split for DX. For me the other big thing is to be able to put the K3s on
a higher shelf for visibility without having to keep your arm raised for
tuning. Much improved ergonomics.

Price is $250.00 so you have to look at your budget to see how that fits in,
but I was pleasantly surprised at how useful the K-POD is in contests when I
tried it in a CWT yesterday. There were a lot of other sponsors of door
prizes, including K3LR/DX Engineering, which add to the enjoyment of Dayton.
Let's all remember to thank them.

73,

Jim, K4QPL
