I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Jack's passing.

Jack was very supportive of me as a young contester and CW operator.  He
always gave words of encouragement.  I had the pleasure of teaching
alongside Jack for the CW academy. His contributions to the advancement of
CW operation are too numerous to count.

Jack truly was a top notch CW operator and ham.  He will most certainly be
missed.

It is with deep sadness and loss we must report the sudden death this
morning of Jack Ritter, W0UCE. Jack was not only a fine operator but a
friend to all and deeply committed to helping others. Our hearts go out to
Fran and the family. There was never a time when someone needed a helping
hand that Jack wasn't there for them.



When Nate, N4YDU, called me just now when I was running 15M in the contest,
it totally knocked the wind out of me with the tragedy of Jack's passing.
I'm sure all of his many friends will feel the same.



Arrangements are unknown right now. Nate as PVRC-NC East chairman, asked me
to get this out and he will pass on further word when available.



RIP, my friend Jack.
