Jack could use a microphone, though he pretended to not be able to spell or
recognize the word. Jack was 99.9999% CW only.

I am reminded of a scene in the movie "Quigley Down Under", where Tom
Selleck plays an 19th century hero in Australia with a long rifle and 21st
century sniper skills, and who disdains pistols. Near the end of the movie
Selleck faces off with the main villain, except deprived of his rifle and
forced to use a pistol in a quick draw confrontation, presumably putting
Selleck at a severe disadvantage. After Selleck guns down the villain in
the draw, he walks over to the fatally surprised villain and tells him "I
said I didn't like pistols, never said I couldn't use one."

One year in the phone SS Jack called me to give me his number 1A. I about
fell out of my chair. He did it for effect of course, and had such fun with
it. I tried to get him to send in the log, but he didn't want to smear his
image.

I guess I could go on telling all those Jack stories that made him such a
memorable and endearing soul.
