[PVRCNC] W4MR (AA4NC op.) SS CW - SO Unlimited Low Power

Decided to go low power at the last minute after hearing how good the bands sounded. I figured I had about done all I could do with HP the last few years. I was amazed that I didn't miss the amp at all. Some rain on Friday had cleared up the line noise that I had during CQWW, and the low A and K numbers meant I could hear pretty well.
Rates were not high, but were very steady. Got a sweep very early - toughest/last section was WCF! Looked like the NC UL record was within sight before taking an off period around 3 AM. Roanoke Division record was done by morning. Just when I thought it would really slow down, stations kept popping out of the woodwork, and the overall UL record was in the bag. Never thought that would happen from W4.

Congrats to my buddy WE9V for REALLY blowing away the old record.

On the downside: Elecraft's latest fix for my ailing K3 did not work. Kept losing transmit and locking up with a firmware error. Much liddishness ensued again as I fumbled to complete QSOs while power cycling the radio. Definitely going back to Elecraft for diagnosis so I can use the radio for the DX contest trips in 2014.

Not sure what to do on the SSB weekend. Guest ops would be welcome, or if someone wants to do a multiop, I'd be up for that. Don't think I'm up for doing single op SSB this year!
