Last minute decision to wander around Northeastern NC to put a few counties on the air. Couldn't find anyone to share the tasks so went solo. Guess everyone was afraid we wouldn't be back in time to see the red carpet for the Oscars :-)
I value my life and that of others too much to operate in motion so it was more like an expedition to multiple counties. Big mistake was to feed the audio into the car system and not use headphones but thought it would be advantage to listen between stops. A pile up in high fidelity complete with subwoofer creates a monstrous roar and nobody can be copied. Felt like a lid. Thanks to all for being patient. Cans next time.
Stops in 10 counties seems like a blur now. WAK was just for shakedown purposes before leaving. Didn't spend much time in FRA or VAN well represented by N4C, N4YDU and K3KO, but boy was I glad to hit NASh as #10. Great to see so much DX activity. Worked DL3GA from 4 counties on 20 and then 40 at the end.
LOVE, LOVE that N1MM "RoverQTH" feature. Absolutely brilliant way to log, CQ, and set exchanges. Don't leave home without it. 5 seconds and you're 100% ready for the next county. Congratulations software writers whoever you are! Thanks for the tip, Bert, N4CW.
