Jamey K4AOA (rxclay at hotmail.com) in Oxford needs a bit of help. He gets
into some contests is also interested in PVRC.

He brought the following problem here and I couldn't fix it.

He's trying to setup N1MM V12 on a WIN7 (NOT X64, I think) laptop/K3
rig. You probably could have guessed the problem is in CW keying.
Rig control via the FTDI based USB-RS232 port controller works.

We tried setting up a second RS-232 port for keying via a prolific based
usb-rs232 converter and a fresh downloaded set of drivers. It wouldn't
even work for rig control-- even thought it showed up fine in device
manager! Clearly and FTDI based converter may be needed. The hardware
interface is the standard 1 NPN transistor circuit.

Have any of you successfully got RS232 keying to work with a USB-serial
converter in WIN7 for N1MM? If so, how. (I've heard rumors that the
port used for rig control can also be used for keying.) QRQ isn't an
issue for now.

(WINKEY isn't even being considered.)
