Hi Everyone,

I have an American Power conversion (APC) Uninterpretable Power Supply (UPS) at my house. It has a serial connection to my computer that allows APC software (that I down loaded from the internet) to read information from the UPS. The voltage at my house is constantly moving up and down a few volts. The software recorded Extended Over Voltage from time to time in the last 6 months or so.  Over voltage is above 126 volts. I contacted the power company about it. They came to my
house and put a recorder in the power box where the power meter is. They left the recorder there for 2 - 3 weeks. I was home when they put it in but not when they removed it. After a while I received a phone call from a power quality engineer at the power company. She said the recorder did record some events and she was going to do some checking to see what can be done to fix the problem.
This past week a power company employee came to my house and did more voltage measurements. He also measured voltages at other locations in the neighborhood. After that the power quality engineer called and said she thinks the problem has been fixed. The voltage regulator at a feeder was adjusted down. She told me the nominal voltage is suppose to be 120 volts plus and minus six volts. That works out to 114 to 126 volts. I will check the logs in the UPS from time to time to see if it has been fixed.
