Thanks to Rob for raising the subject of SS early !!
Well, in a ideal world the PVRC points WOULD be enough ;-)
SS does generate some great 5M points (see below)
The SS reality is <# OF LOGS>. This means the smaller station is
REALLY important.
I will sponsor a one year subscription to NCJ to SS (both modes)
winner --as determined by our Chair. Perhaps we could have
certificates for winning LP and QRP combined as well ( assuming HP
wins most points)
To get the "rules" discussion started -
1) Highest combined score
2) Must be all dipoles- but tri-bander on 10/15/20 allowed
3) I think (?) HMO is legit. If so, aggregate is allowed
4) Make it based on 5M points so a host gets credited
The reason I suggested in that fashion was the big boyz are already
motivated-uh, or at least will get on ;-)
Anyone chasing PVRC 5M points, SS generates them ! Last year K4QPL ran
QRP and generated a score of 79,716 but it translates to a whopping
738,112 5M points !
---
Looking at 5M overall totals for NC East and comparing 2008/9 to
2009/10 scores is pretty encouraging. The majority of NCE scores went
up.
---
I mention the above rules only to begin a discussion...
Rob - One other possibility would be for NC/E to throw down the
gauntlet and challenge the other chapters for SS bragging rights ?
