[PVRCNC] PVRC NC East Picnic 8/22/10 Thank You

Fellow PVRC NC Members:

 

On behalf of myself and "Chef Archie" I wish to thank everyone that
participated in the PVRC NC East Picnic today at the QTH of WØUCE for making
this a special event by your presence. 

 

XYL and OM Door Prizes were won, First and Second Place OM and XYL Paper
Contest Prizes were awarded and a "Very Special" Golden Oldie Award was
presented by the Grand One In-Charge of PVRC NC East - KA1ARB to the one and
only Guy Olinger - K2AV (Mr. Top Band Antenna Guru) for being the longest
tenured PVRC Member in attendance.  Such prestigious  recognition- nothing
other than the "Golden Oldie Award" - PVRC can always "Depend" on K2AV to
turn in High Contest Scores...

 

Chef Archie did his thing on the grill with Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers and
Hot Dogs along with "a bunch" of condiments and other goodies to fill
stomach space while "future son-in-law "non-ham Dave Glackin" did an
outstanding culinary performance by preparing his "Pot of Very Special Baked
Beans.") 

 

Of course all attendees were intimidated by "Chewing Gum Snapping" - Get yer
order in now or go hungry - " Waitress Ms. Flow" (ya... none other than
UCE's Jr. OP Vickie - Always the life of the party girl.  

 

Also many thanks to Fran for her contribution and special thanks to Rodney
and Brenda Hudson, UCE's next door "antenna loving" neighbors (the best any
man could ever ask for) as they brought a quantity of nice cold 807's to the
party.

 

It was great to have PVRC NC East and West members in attendance - PVRC NC
is  truly one great group...
