[PVRCNC] Call History update

I agree with the KAZman - no more of a crutch than having the keyboard
send the Morse for you. After all you are STILL responsible for copying
what is sent. If you don't catch that N9RV is now in MT, not IN, you
just lost points. I am a hunt & peck typist so the fact that I have to
type less suits me just fine. If I copy something that disagrees with
what is there, just add it in at the end in N1MM - easy.

I'd also like to thank KAZ for helping me resolve some issues that I and
others were having with the format of the call history files. I think I
was using an older version of N1MM that were not loading the originally
posted files. The files that are on the pvrcnc site are working for me
now.

For the folks interested in the call history for N1MM.....(Writelog has
no change)

N4ZR pointed out a couple of format problems with the N1MM data. I think
they are corrected. If you experience a problem with files downloaded
before this note, please get a fresh copy.

FYI...

The actual data in the files did NOT change.

So depending upon how you downloaded the data, and which version of N1MM
you are using, you may not have experienced any problems importing the
history. If it is working, you probably don't need to fix it.

Philosophy note(flame retardant indicated):

If you object to using the call history, does that mean you are also
going to abandon class "U", packet spots, and supercheck partial?

Paper, pencils and straight keys?

I certainly don't object to anyone objecting to the use of the history,
nor do I disagree with the point that reliance on the history can be
considered a crutch. I just have an interest in the rationalization
process. There is a class "B" and "A" in addition to "U"nlimited.

Surely an electronic keyer is a crutch! Bugs and straight keys fo'

ever'body!

FWIW, I used the call history and the packet spots last year for the
first time ever from the home QTH. (Even ran a cat5 cable out to the
basement to do it.)

My CW errors, as always, reflected my tendency to transpose 2 and 3,7
and 8, and the tendency I have to transpose digits when typing, rather
than using the instances of bum data from the file. I found the bum
data in the file to be at least as reliable as the bum packet
spots....i.e., mediocre.

I just figured that since the data was available, it was worth
packaging.

OK. I'll shut up now and crawl back into the cave. :o

Good luck to one and all in the Sweeps. GO PVRC!
