[PVRCNC] Epson printer wierdness

XYL was printing some stuff when the Epson inkjet printer stopped. The
management program spit out:

"Parts in the printer are at then end of life. Contact service support"

Turns out there is an internal counter that when exceeded will do this.
The counter apparently is implemented so that the ink "waste pad"
doesn't overflow on to the desk.

A search of the internet revealed that there is a free program (non
Epson of course) which allows one to reset the counter for a large
number of Epson printers.

Search on SSCSSERV.EXE to find it.

It worked. I didn't replace or clean the waste pad as recommended. So
we may be seeing ink on the desk top in the future.

This same thing happened "died" thing happened with XYL's last Epson
inkjet printer. Then no such message was spit out.
We junked it.

This is surely modern day "planned obsolescence".
