The anomaly was a Gonset VHF "gooney box" right beside it...it looked like it 
was there just to fill a space. However, the actor did turn it on (as 
evidenced by seeing the "flash" of filament lighting) and later turned the receiver 
dial (it was a crystal-controlled rig!!!). Anyway, the FT-101 did work well on 
the 100 kHz dial mark (on what band is there ANY activity at the 100 kHz 
portion of the CW bands?). The Morse was well sent, and enough of it to make 
sensible copy, although the message was cryptic. I didn't hear the names of any 
city, but perhaps it was encoded...
