WOW! I am most impressed! I am amazed at how many people have written to
me. I hope it is OK to use this mass mailing.
I am looking forward to getting to the meetings at become an official
member. But I thought I would intro myself...
I am Kent, K9EZ, orginally from the DX black hole of Wisconsin. I am
presently in Fuquay-Varina.
My contesting background:
I was a member of SMC (Society of Midwest Contesters), did contesting at
KS9K (which became K4JA) and did some on my own. I have contested from
160-432 and have done VHF/UHF grid hopping. My Elmer is W9OP and I have
been a Ham since 1975 (ugh THAT long???) I love to do CW.
I am a broadcast engineer. Over the summer I was Director of Engineering
for Next Media in New Bern. I handled NINE stations from Jacksonville to
Greenville. I just took a job with BAE systems and will be doing broadcast
transmitters for the military out of Ft Bragg. I will also be running a
contract engineering service for any broadcasters on the East Coast (or
further if they want to ship me!)
I look forward to meeting you all and becoming an asset to the club.
Kent Winrich, K9EZ
PS- Any one up for a DXpedition??
