Don't know if this went to everyone as I forgot that for the reflectors you
have to be a member before you can post--or at least that's what I
understand is the rule. Anyhow, I'm copying this in case anyone is doing a
multi or has a spare station.
If you do get to NC before SS, We could maybe do "musical chairs" here on
Sunday when I stop as K4QPL and go over to operate at W0UCE as NY4A. The
only problem is that under the weird SS rules you can't use the same radio.
That would mean you'd have to use my TS-850 instead of the Orion II and it's
not that great for phone contesting. But if you want to use it, or have your
own, you're welcome to come over on Sunday.
Or maybe someone else has something to offer. Too bad you didn't get down
soon enough so your score would count for the club.

Jim

Thank you gents!
It has been a couple of years since I have done any serious contesting.
But I threw up a wire for CQWW and had a blast.
I used to contest at KS9K, who moved and then became K4JA
http://www.k4ja.com/ and then he went out of the contesting "business". My
Elmer is W9OP, who a few people seem to know.
I have won a few awards, but help out where I can. I like to specialize
in CW. I am working on high fidelity audio for SSB as I am a broadcast
engineer.
I am working on antennas, but dont htink I will be able to swing SS (my
fav) this year. Still trying to move from Wisconsin with the family. I am
HOPING to put up a 40 4 square yet this season...wish me luck. It may be a
2 square ;-). I am also working on VHF/UHF for grid hopping.
If you need an operator, let me know. I would be happy to step in.
Signed,
Itchin' to get back into it!

Kent,
Welcome to NC and PVRC-NC East country! We do have an active contesting
chapter with some great operators, stations, etc. More importantly they
have
a real enthusiasm for contesting.
Visit the main www.pvrc.org and our local website-- www.pvrcnc.org Have
a
look at the SS page that W4KAZ put up specially this year. You'll see a
lot
of familiar contesting calls on the roster. Our meeting info is also
there
for Manchester's Grill on the first Thursday of each month. Would be
great
to meet you there. After years of meeting on the south side of Raleigh
we
rotated to the north last year so a bit more driving but we're easy to
get
to.
Subscribe to the PVRC and PVRCNC reflectors to be sure you get all the
news
and announcements. Membership is pretty laid back. No dues. Become a
member
after attending two meetings. There's an online membership application.
Keep
active with reporting scores. You can also qualify for some nice
wallpaper
and the club 5M award which recognizes continuing contribution to club
scores.
Again, look forward to meeting you---and hearing you.
Thanks for the forward, Bob.
