PVRCNC-EAST meets Thursday, 6 p.m. at Manchesters.
This is also the holiday meeting with friends and family welcome, but not
mandatory. We thought this would be a good way to kick off the holiday
season. Remember, the rest of the year we don't have to pay extra or give
guarantees for our meeting room. For the December holiday season we needed
to make a firm booking to guarantee availability so member support for this
meeting is appreciated. The menu is also a special, first class feast with
quality entree items, salads, non-alcoholic drinks, etc. for an
all-inclusive price of $30.00 which also includes the tip. A bit more than
our regular meetings, but very good value. Full details on the website
www.pvrcnc.org
For those of you who thought you had missed the deadline, or your plans have
changed for the better, we have arranged with David, the owner, to allow
last minute bookings up to Wednesday night. For latecomers, it will be pay
at the door. If you book, however, you must attend or pay since this is a
firm commitment to the restaurant. Call or email Jeff or I with the number
attending and your entree selections. Because of the late date, please give
first and second choices for entrees.
There have been three major contests since our last meeting--phone and cw SS
and CQWW cw. Members have shown strong participation and there'll be lots to
talk about. 160 is coming up this weekend and antennas are always a big
concern. There will also be some special items on the agenda so even if you
haven't booked up to now you can still join in the fun. Jeff, NX9T says for
those who paid him in advance as requested, there's a "pretty good chance"
that he will use the money to pay your tab. (Just kidding, Jeff.) Look at it
this way. You paid so long ago you can consider Thursday night a free
dinner! You just need to bring enough $ for the "adult refreshments."
Again, please support this special meeting if you can. We look forward to
seeing everyone there.
73,
Jim, K4QPL
