Hey, Brad- Great to meet you last night-
OK- We bit the bullet last year and went to Writelog after years of CT,
which I loved (still do...)- WL just offered so much more on today"s speed
computers. Gene WB4MSG built rig boxes for WL, and they work great for our
multi set ups.
But with CT being free, well, its a helluva deal. Just depends, I guess,
on what kind of computers you want to run.
We also use TR for nAQP, but now that WL does it, no mas.
At my house, I have an 80 meter full wave loop for 80M- up about 40', fed
with ladderline- works like a champ for a small lot.
W4WS has an inverted vee up around 60' and a full size vertical, boith
tied to a cantenary rope between 2 towers. Lots of radials beneath it.
A KC2XT recevieve loop hleps for additional ears on 160 and 80 (our
website has the link to his- summitschool.com/faculty/w4ws.html
160 at W4WS is 72' of Rohn 25 shunt fed with about 32 1/4 wave radials at
the base. That is our 40m tower (with and A3S above the2l 40 that doesnt
work too well- need a doctor out there for that one- SWR is fine, but
doesnt hear worth a damn- interaction with 40?
Anyway, thats what we have here. Those antennas at lreast keep us in the
low band game during contests- On 40, we are right up there with the
top finishers in our category.
Good luck, and thanks for your miltary service!
