[PVRCNC] Digital and logging advice

I received this from a traffic net buddy but am ignorant re: digital. 
Altho I know something about logging I am not sure one of the popular 
contest logging programs would work best for him.

I've used Hamscope and Digipan from NN3SI which I operate most Sunday
afternoons. I want to get one of them. You have opinion on which is better
for digital modes? Also, how about Logging program. Contest logging is
secondary for me. Just general logging and instant recall of names of those
I've worked before. I also would like to use it for canned text
transmission. Like CQ and a station description.

Your opinion will be appreciated.
