[PVRCNC] PCI MODEM FS/TRADE

Guys,

I have a US ROBOTICS 56k* PCI modem with onboard processor.  It
supports V92/V90 and the normal list of protocols.  It's only a few
weeks old.

Sounds great.  Well, not here anyway.  It has a devil of a time
connecting.  Listening to the beeps and boops, it seems to be doing
everything OK.  Once connected all is OK.  It may have to do with our
ISP not supporting V92 and the signals to downgrade the modem to V90
are not working.  Your guess is as good as mine.  It is interesting
that the two dial-up numbers apparently handles this differently.  One
produces a bong-bong at the end of the negotiation.  The other
doesn't.

An older ROCKWELL HCF modem has none of these problems and averages
higher connect speeds!

If you want to play with it, I'd be glad to send it to you. If it
works for you we can discuss price (cheap) or a trade.  Otherwise you
can send it back.
