Bonjour PM!  Frank is part of the Potomac Valley Radio Club, which extends
into northern North Carolina, and we have a chapter that meets in the
Raleigh area.  Unfortunately that is several hours driving time away from
Camp Lejeune.  However you may be flying into the Raleigh-Durham airport
and I am sure some of us would be eager to meet with you while you are
here or if you come to visit during your 6-month stay.  FYI our Raleigh
PVRC chapter has a website at http://pvrcnc.org

I have tried to find clubs that are closer to Jacksonville.  I am not very
familiar with that area, but try the following websites:

W3LPL usually has an open house on the 3rd weekend in June and some of the
North Carolina club members go up to visit.  I am sure that if you are
interested in going they would be happy to share a car ride with you
(about 5 hours ride from Raleigh).
