         I guess the main question *I* would have to ask is...  Why keep 
the telescoping aerial attached?  While it probably is not going to cause 
all that many problems as such, it will probably be as useful as an ashtray 
on a motorcycle.  The `usefulness' of it sinks even lower if the reason you 
are going to the discone is because you are dealing with some sort of 
`local', like in the same room or building, interference and trying to 
eliminate it.  In that case it would be better as a piece of `modern art' 
framed and hung on a wall.  {VB GRIN!}
