Actually you can but it takes a second scanner and a
PC with atleast one (preferably two) serial ports.....
In my case I use a Pro 46 as the data source for the
Trunker and Etrunk program. Then the Trunker (or
Etrunk for EDACS) program vectors the 2005 I have with
an Opto to the correct voice channel to hear the
transmission.
This configuration is better than most trunk trackers
in that you can set some groups with higher priority
and int erupt instantly..
i.e. BC 780... Locked on PD talking on how to process
a parking ticket.. Lets say I have FD set as a
priority over PD talk group.. If a FD call comes
during some long winded discussion between the PD
units I would never hear the FD call.
Now Pro 46 and Pro 2005.. PD talking amongst
themselves.. FD dispatch happens.. 2005 vectors
instantly to the FD call as it is always monitoring
the control channel and can move from group to group
as soon as they happen.. Quite power full tool if
configured correctly..
