Taken from the 456 Owners' Manual and Installation Guide, page 18:
Step 10.0 ... Connect the Audio and Analog input wires. Both wires are
equipped with mini grabber test clips. Both connections will be made to the
Receiver PC Board. Route both wires to the top side of the scanner.
10.1 ... Clip the Audio wire to Test Point 2 on the Receiver board. TP2 on
the Pro 2006 receiver board is shown in photo 8 with the wire attached. It
looks similar to a 1/4 watt resistor soldered vertically to the PC board with no
connection to the top end. Simply clip onto the small lead that protrudes
from the top.
(Let me know if you want me to scan a copy of photo 8, and send as an
attachment to you)
10.2 ... The Analog wire must be clipped to IC4 pin 12. The test clip is
designed to be able to hook onto IC legs. IC4 is between the rear panel and a
shielded box on the PC board and there is only just enough room to get to pin
12. IC4 has a total of 14 pins. The end of the IC body with the notch in it is
the key for pin 1. Pin 14 is also next to the notch. Therefore pin 12 is
the third one from the notch and close to the shielded box. Photo 7 shows IC4.
Make sure that the grabber is in contact with pin 12 and only pin 12.
(Photo 7 shows the IC4 directly behind the phono plug, with the top cover
off, and the scanner facing away from you. Again, if you want, I can try
scanning a copy of this photo)
