No, you enter your frequencies to the scanner manually or using the Cheek board but when
you are connected to the computer you use the files on that computer to scan, when you 
disconnect from the computer your scanner runs normally as a stand alone scanner.

I misunderstood your first post, I thought you were saying that you could not use the scanner
at all without the computer
