My humble suggestion is to look at the product detector circuitry and BFO.

Another Plessey 2280 question.

I own one of these interesting radios and love it=E2=80=A6.but it seems to h=
ave problems on SSB.

When switched from AM to SSB the signal level drops, S meter and audio level=
.  It also has muddy, noisy audio in SSB.

I like to use SSB for ECSS reception of AM broadcasts.

Anyone seen this problem before?  Any suggestions as to where to start looki=
ng.

Also if anyone can provide it, I would like sources and p/n=E2=80=99s for th=
e parts to build extension cables that would allow me to work on the modules=
.

Any help will be much appreciated!
