Another Plessey 2280 question.

I own one of these interesting radios and love it….but it seems to have problems on SSB.

When switched from AM to SSB the signal level drops, S meter and audio level.  It also has muddy, noisy audio in SSB.

I like to use SSB for ECSS reception of AM broadcasts.

Anyone seen this problem before?  Any suggestions as to where to start looking.

Also if anyone can provide it, I would like sources and p/n’s for the parts to build extension cables that would allow me to work on the modules.
