[Premium-Rx] RFT EKD receivers option

Hello all,

 Some time ago I decided to make a step further and I decided to get a professional receiver, many moons I had a Racal 1772 but I was a bit dissapointed with it but that is another strory.

This time I have already decided to go for  an RFT EKD 300 or 500 series but I have no idea in which to choose. No much information still on the web and some people says that they are very similar in perfomance.

I would be very grateful if somebody could throw some light on my decission. Thanks in advance.

I would use it only for voice, not digital signals, mainly I am interested in catching weak signal buried in the mud on tropical band and on 49 mb so audio recovery and intelligibility speech are quite important. I know that these receivers have great audio.

I have serious doubts between 300/315 or 500/512/515 series I do not know wheter the perfomance is the same or not. Having a look at the specifications it seems that the 500 series is fitted with better filters:
 
    EKD-511, Range 14 kHz - 30 MHz, IF filter 5 kHz, SSB filter 3 kHz
    EKD-512, Range 14 kHz - 30 MHz, IF filter 8 kHz, SSB filter 6 kHz
    EKD-514, Range 10 kHz - 30 MHz, IF filter 5 kHz, SSB filter 3 kHz
    EKD-515, Range 10 kHz - 30 MHz, IF filter 8 kHz, SSB filter 6 kHz 

It seems that there are two versions white and black front panels I do not know if they have the same circuits.

Any reliable source here in Europe in order to get one in a good shape?

Any thoughts and advice are greatly welcomed.
