Victor,
I'm buy no means an expert, but owned one many years ago. I checked and
found a manual with schematics and such on the HP archive site. However
the fold-out schematics were cut up into letter size pages. I freaked
out and exported the pages from Acrobat as png's. I stitched these
together using Image Composite Editor, a really helpful freebee from
Microsoft, and then stuck them back in the pdf at the end of the
schematic s section. You can grab the file here:

Like I said, I freaked out. :-)
I'd start by checking the power supply voltages. The you'll have to
penetrate the heavily shielded RF stages. In a lot of shops these
things were left on all day, every day, in the interest of stability, so
you may be looking at weak tubes. They are exotic planar triodes, so
they're hard to test. You can by new ones for about $30 each. Best bet
might be to find another 608. There were a lot of them around, and they
generally go begging at hamfests.
Good luck,
Al
